St. Thomas Aquinas Academy’s 32nd Annual Auction will take place on Sunday, March 23rd from 11:30 – 6pm in the Marinette Catholic Central gym. This family friendly event is the largest fundraiser for the Academy and is open to the public. Every year is exciting with bidding, buying, visiting and sampling dishes from the international food booths. Also returning this year is the tuition raffle with a top prize of a $1,000.00 credit towards a student’s tuition.
Volunteers have been gathering donations, big and small, from businesses and individuals for the auctions and the day will move at a lively pace under the direction of Auctioneer Henry Yoap of Yoap & Yoap Services.
The oral auctions promise to be exciting! Some of the donated items are a 14ft. Catamaran Sailboat, a 10-day South African Safari, a pheasant hunting package, Aaron Rodgers Packer print, 2 cords of cut Red Oak firewood, Handcrafted Patio Furniture and a beautiful cross made of clay and signed by the St. Thomas Aquinas Academy elementary students. Place a winning bid for a Week Stay in a Sanibel Island Condo, a Spaghetti Dinner for 8 or a year long Brew of the Month. Enjoy a Fish Fry for 8, or savor the Dessert of the Month, entertain with the popular Hors d’oeuvres party for 45, or relax with a Lake Michigamme Log Home get away.
The silent auction areas have something for everyone. Tots to Teens, the Women’s Booth, Men’s Booth, and the Pantry have items and specialty baskets arriving daily.
Auction booklets, complete with listings of all items, will be available for $7 and are also sold at the door. St. Thomas Aquinas Academy families are calling for donations, big and small for the event.
The international food booths have changed a bit this year and offer something for every appetite. The German booth will be serving delicious homemade Sauerkraut & Pork and hot reuben sandwiches. Also, featuring the Famous homemade Pies with Toppings, Ice Cream sandwiches and Sundaes in the Pie & Ice Cream booth.
